Beaney wins Sandford Award for 2018
The Beaney House of Art and Knowledge are delighted to receive the 2018 Sandford Award for Heritage Education. Sandford Awards (named after their founder Lord Sandford) are presented annually by the Heritage Education Trust to a small number of visitor attractions across the UK that meet the highest standards in heritage education, including museums and art galleries.
Canterbury Roman Museum wins Sandford Award for 2015
Canterbury Roman Museum is delighted to have won the Sandford Award for Heritage Education 2015 for our exemplary schools offer. Our Learning Officer, Anna Meldrum, and Visitor Experience Manager, Alice Young, accepted the award on behalf of Canterbury Museums & Galleries in December 2015 at a ceremony held at the London Transport Museum.
Beaney wins Highly Commended at the Beautiful South Awards
The Beaney House of Art and Knowledge received a Highly Commended award after being shortlisted in the Large Attraction category at the Beautiful South Awards. The awards celebrate the absolute best in tourism and hospitality across the south of England and this year more than 130 entries were submitted across 16 categories.
Beaney shortlisted for national prize
The Art Fund Prize for Museum of the Year highlights the innovative and excellent ways that cultural institutions throughout the UK are bringing their collections to life for their audiences.
The Clore Award for Learning recognises the celebrates museums and galleries which put learning at the heart of what they do.
Collections Trust Award
The pioneering Paper Apothecary project at The Beaney House of Art and Knowledge in Canterbury has won a national award.
The Collections Trust and Historypin awarded the project its inaugural prize for Participatory Practice at a ceremony at The Oval in London on Tuesday 2 July 2013.
Beaney wins Cultural Landscape Award
In 2013, the Beaney won the Cultural Landscape Award at the annual Culture Awards event. This award is for a cultural organisation, group or individual making a significant positive impact to the District’s environment, architecture or public space.
