Proposal to consolidate the Museums and Galleries service in two buildings and to create an enhanced cultural space for the district at Canterbury Heritage Museum
This consultation has closed, thank you to everyone who took the time to give their views.
All feedback has been analysed and was reported to the Community Committee on Wednesday 29 March 2017.
Community Committee unanimously agreed that the Marlowe Theatre, in collaboration with the Museums and Galleries service, and working with other partners, develop a new cultural and heritage centre at the Poor Priests Hospital, bringing together arts and heritage and including the relocation of the theatre’s creative programme from its temporary location in Pound Lane.

All feedback has been analysed and was reported to the Policy and Resources Committee on 8 February 2017, and a report summarising the comments received is available here. Policy and Resources Committee recommended that Full Council approved the recommendations, which they did at their meeting on 21 February 2017. Therefore, the following revised opening hours will take effect:
Beaney Cafe: Revised opening hours from 1 April 2017
Monday to Saturday: 10am to 4pm
Sunday: 12pm to 4pm
Beaney Art Museum: Revised opening hours from 1 June 2017
Tuesday to Saturday: 10am to 5pm
Sunday: 12pm to 5pm
