The Beaney House of Art & Knowledge

Canterbury Roman Museum
Go underground to the Roman street level to uncover the fascinating story of Roman Canterbury. See incredible finds including an Iron Age helmet, one of only four in the UK, exquisite jewellery, a buried silver hoard and evidence of a rotten Roman murder! Step into the Roman dining room and kitchen. Have fun investigating real Roman objects and trying on togas and tunics in the hands-on area. Canterbury Heritage Museum
Discover the history of the city from prehistoric times to the present day in one of Canterbury’s finest medieval buildings. See Anglo-Saxon and Viking treasures, medieval finds including rare pilgrim badges and fragments of Becket’s shrine. Marvel at the Invicta steam engine, Victorian artefacts and the story of the Canterbury Blitz. Not forgetting the original Bagpuss and friends and Rupert Bear!
