Canterbury Museums and Galleries has temporarily closed both locations—The Beaney and Canterbury Roman Museum—until further notice, to support the Government’s effort to contain the spread of COVID-19.

Our priority is to protect and support our visitors, staff, and volunteers, and we have been taking several proactive precautionary measures, including enhanced cleaning in all public toilets and public spaces, and displaying NHS Information Posters to promote the UK-wide public information campaign

While we don’t have any confirmed cases connected to the Museum, we believe that we must do all that we can to ensure a safe and healthy environment for our community, which at this time calls for us to minimize social contact and attendance to public venues.

We continue to monitor the situation closely and look forward to welcoming our staff and visitors back to both Museums.
