Set in Canterbury in the early 21st century, Sonia Overall’s experimental novel Cruel Brother follows hapless singer Edmund Muir’s attempts to trace his lost ancestry. As Edmund grows increasingly convinced that he is descended from William Shakespeare, his life takes on complex literary parallels.
The novel will be serialised via the author’s website as part of the Shakespeare 400 festival. The first part will be released on 23rd April 2016. www.soniaoverall.net
