Making Kent Home

Sat 1st March 2025 to Sun 4th May 2025

The Beaney How to get here

An exhibition to showcase the possessions that people bring with them to Kent to create familiarity within an unfamiliar place.

  • Making Kent Home
Making Kent Home is a collaborative project led by Canterbury Archaeological Trust and Ethnic Minorities Canterbury (EMIC).

The exhibition aims to fully explore the meaning that such items hold, enabling us to consider and give voice to the significance of objects in relation to identity, culture change and adaptation to new social contexts. The project will look at archaeological material alongside modern-day objects to illustrate how the movement of objects and people has been commonplace throughout human history.

Saturday 1 March to Sunday 4 May 2025 (closed Mondays)

Front Room, Ground Floor, The Beaney
