The Beaney — How to get here
We’re bringing bricks and Christmas together to create the ultimate free family festive experience! Find out how to get involved in this exciting community Christmas project.
Visit Santa’s workshop at The Beaney featuring BRICKLIVE Christmas models including life size Santa, Reindeer and those cheeky elves! Santa’s workshop will run from Saturday 11 December to Sunday 2 January. (Please note The Beaney is closed on Mondays and 25 December, 26 December and 1 January).
Plus, follow the free Christmas brick trail through Canterbury City Centre that will bring our city alive with wonderful Christmas models in shop windows! Brought to you in partnership with Canterbury BID. The trail will run from Wednesday 1 December to Friday 24 December.
We need your bricks!
Help us create an unforgettable free family Christmas experience because a community that plays together, stays together. We need your help to create a Christmas brick model trail made by local school children to be exhibited through Canterbury City centre this Christmas.
We want to include as many school children as possible and, in the spirit of sustainability, would like to use as many ‘pre-loved’ LEGO or compatible bricks as we can. So if you have cupboards bursting with bricks, or just cannot bear the thought of another excruciating step across a brick covered bedroom floor, this project is for you.
The Beaney Elves will be collecting pre-owned bricks (LEGO or compatible models) at the Visitor Information Desk from 10 August to 26 September 2021. These bricks will be sent to schools for our ‘little helpers’ to get to work in to help recreate Santa’s workshop here in Canterbury.
All bricks used in this project will be donated to schools and child care settings to promote STEM learning and learning through play.

Calling all teachers!
Teachers – we need your help! For this exciting new Christmas project, we want to promote the value of learning through play and particularly the benefits of combining STEM subjects with creative activities. This year we want to inspire children to get creative working around the theme of ‘Santa’s Workshop’ or ‘My Christmas Town’ to make models of toys, buildings and landscapes that excite them at Christmas time.
We are inviting local school children from across the Canterbury District to build fabulous brick models at their schools between 4 to 22 October 2021 for a Christmas trail. The trail will take participants through Canterbury City Centre and bring our city alive with wonderful Christmas cheer!
We will deliver the bricks to your school and collect the models. The trail will also feature BRICKLIVE Christmas models at The Beaney. Join reindeer, elves and Father Christmas himself for a yuletide treat created with toy bricks!
Models from schools will also be entered into a special competition to win a LEGO Education Classroom pack!
For more information on how to take part please email: firstname.lastname@example.org

Join us for some playful LEGO learning!
Working with LEGO® Education partner Raising Robots, we will be hosting fun, hands-on workshops this festive season. Children will work with a LEGO Education Certified trainer to build fantastic robotic creations, bringing them to life using motors, sensors and coding.
