Pamela Holmes won the Jane Austen Short Story Award in 2014 and comes to the Beaney to talk about her first novel. “The Huntingfield Paintress” is inspired by the true-life story of 19th century vicar’s wife, the passionate and free-thinking Mildred Holland and tells how she rediscovered her passion for art by painting the ceiling of her parish church.
