Be inspired and get creative with our fantastic LEGO exhibition! Bricks Britannia: A History of Britain in LEGO Bricks, features 30 stunning models built by Bright Bricks, the leading company for LEGO brick creations, including a show stopping 8m long model of the Flying Scotsman, the world’s most famous steam locomotive, with light, sound and smoke effects. Iconic moments in British history, from the Stone Age to the 21st Century, will be presented in LEGO bricks at this exciting new interactive exhibition, using over 150,000 LEGO bricks. Pupils will not only get exclusive access to this must-see exhibition, but also the unique chance to enjoy hands on, cross-curricular LEGO learning experiences with elements of Numeracy, Art, History, and Science.

SESSION DETAILS

Upon arrival at the The Beaney, your group will be taken to the Learning Lab where all belongings can be left. You will then be escorted to the special exhibition gallery to enjoy the 30 stunning models built by Bright Bricks, and discover more about the historic event represented by each piece. The group will then be escorted to the Explorers and Collectors gallery to take part in our hands-on, cross-curricular LEGO learning activities. Using our LEGO Challenge Cards, pupils with work as teams to crack the educational, problem solving tasks. Pupils can then also enjoy a unique opportunity to dive in and let their imagination run wild in our 70,000 piece LEGO Brick Pit!

TIMINGS

The LEGO Bricks Britannia workshops at The Beaney run for 1.5 hours on Monday 11th February only and will be available at the following times:

  • 9:30am -11.00am
  • 1:30pm -3.00pm

AGE GROUPS

Sessions are suitable for KS1 and K2 pupils.  Each group must be accompanied by a member of your staff at all times so please ensure that you have enough staff for this.

COSTS:

£5.00 per pupil, accompanying adults are FREE. To book please complete our online booking form or email the Learning Team on Learning@canterbury.gov.uk.

Please note full payment is required to secure your booking for this workshop due to the popular demand for this ticketed event. 

Due to the exclusive nature and limited availability of the LEGO Bricks Britannia workshops, bookings will be on a first-come, first-served, basis.
