Kent and Medway Museums Consortium (NPO)

Canterbury Museum & Galleries are working in partnership with three other Kent and Medway Museums, known as the Kent and Medway Museums Consortium, which operates as a National Portfolio Organisation (NPO) for Arts Council England.

The three partner museums are The Amelia, Tunbridge Wells, Guildhall Museum, Rochester and the Historic Dockyard Chatham.

Working alongside these other museum partners has enabled us to develop an effective health and wellbeing offer, sharing practice and support together.

Be Connected Panel

An important part of The Beaney’s work as a National Portfolio organisation is the Museum’s Be Connected Panel.

Using the equalities characteristics as a framework, we have built relationships with organisations within Canterbury District who are dedicated to supporting underrepresented communities. Through conversations and collaborations we are building understanding and connections across our society and reflecting this in our visitor experiences, programming and collections.

Our current Panel represent a wide range of partners from across the District, and play a role in steering the work of Canterbury Museum & Galleries to ensure it is inclusive, relevant and accessible.
