Privacy Notice for Museum at Night Competition
This privacy notice relates to the competition “Who made Edith Miller disappear” and joining our mailing list. Both services are provided by Canterbury City Council, the data controller.
In order to provide our service, it is necessary for us to collect and hold personal information about you. The information collected and held will vary and depend on the nature of the service. We will process personal information relating to:
- Your entry in the competition,
- Understanding where entrants have come from,
- Selecting and contacting a winner,
- Publishing the winner’s details on our website, social media and press releases,
- Sending you information through our mailing list if you choose to join it (this is optional).
This information includes:
- Phone number,
- Information relating to payment of entry fee,
- Email address (optional if you would like to join our mailing list).
Other than your email address all the above information is required to participate in the competition. Failure to provide the information may disqualify you from the competition.
Our lawful bases for processing your personal information in relation to the competition is contract. In relation to joining our electronic mailing list our lawful basis is consent you can withdraw your consent at any time.
No data processors will be used to process data relating to the competition. In relation to our mailing list we will use Mailchimp who are based in the USA and have received an adequacy decision as they participate in Privacy Shield.
Other than publishing the winners name, no other details will be shared of any other entrant.
We keep your personal information for the minimum period necessary. Competition entry information will be kept for 1 year. Information about the winner will be kept for 1 year. All information will be held securely and disposed of confidentially. You will be sent details of the mailing list retention if you choose to join.
