Share your Dreams Competition
To celebrate the opening of Canterbury’s latest exhibition, The BFG in Pictures, at the Beaney we’d like to invite you to share your dreams with us!
Whether you dream in words or pictures enter our ‘whoopsy whiffling ‘competition to have the chance to win a professional illustration of your dream which will be displayed alongside this special exhibition.
Runners up will also win their own copy of the Roald Dahl book collection.
The competition will be split into 3 categories:
Category 1: Under 6yrs
Picture entry only: Send us a jpeg image of your favourite dream with a brief explanation of what the dream was about. The more imaginative the better!
Category 2: 7-12 yrs
Picture, Poem or Short Story
Picture: Send us a jpeg image of a dream you would try to catch if you were the BFG. Don’t forget to include a brief explanation of what the dream was about and who you would give it to. No more than 100 words.
Poem or Short Story: If drawing isn’t for you then why not send us in a poem or a short story about a dream you would catch and who you would give it to, but remember the BFG is very busy so keep it short. No more than 200 words.
Category 3: Big Kids 13+ yrs
Poem or Short Story only
Get those creative juices flowing and delve into the depths of your imagination to create a masterpiece with words! Send us your poem or short story for a chance to have it translated into an illustration and win a workshop session with a published author.
No more than 200 words so make them count!
All entries should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org with ‘Share your Dreams competition’ in the subject line
Competition opens on Saturday 3rd March and closes on Sunday 15th April 2018.
Terms and Conditions:
All eligible entries must include name, age, postcode and contact email address.
Contact details will only be used for the purposes of this competition unless you state you would like to be added to the Beaney Family mailing list, through which you will receive the latest news and event notifications for family friendly activities and holiday clubs.
Personal details will not be shared with any third party
By entering this competition you are giving Canterbury City Council permission to publish/ reproduce the work your have submitted on all platforms for promotional purposes linked to this exhibition programme.
Winners and runner up names will be published on our website alongside the categories and may appear in press releases relating to this programme.
