Visitor notice: The visitor lift at the museum will be unavailable on Monday 16 March 2026 whilst essential maintenance is carried out. The only access to the museum on this date will be via a flight of stairs. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Guided tours
We offer pre-booked interpreter-led highlights tours for groups of up to 30 people. The cost is £5 per person (minimum £25 spend applies) in addition to the usual entry price. Tours include a Roman object investigation session in the hands-on area. Tours must be booked at least 24 hours in advance. Book online and select ‘Roman highlight tour – object handling sessions.’
