A big birthday bash for Bagpuss!

On Saturday 10 February we will be throwing a 50th birthday party for Bagpuss at The Beaney!

There will be light refreshments and a chance to meet the saggy old cloth-cat himself.

Want to join the party? Limited invitations are available to those entering a draw. To enter, please email Beaney@canterbury.gov.uk and tell us why you would like to celebrate Bagpuss’s birthday with him.

Terms and conditions

All eligible entries must include a name and either a contact email address or phone number.

Deadline for entries is 3pm on Wednesday 7 February 2024

Winners will be drawn at random and successful entrants will receive an invitation by email to the party on Saturday 10 February. Lucky winners will be able to bring up to 4 guests to the party and will need to confirm attendees in advance.

Winning entrants will be notified by 12 noon on Thursday 8 February 2024. Unfortunately we are only able to contact successful entrants. 

For those who are not successful, there will be another chance to meet Bagpuss after the party on Saturday 10 February as he has kindly agreed to appear for photos with visitors between 1 and 4pm at The Beaney. 

The event on Saturday 10 February will be photographed and entrants will be asked to give their consent to be photographed when accepting the invitation. Photographs will be taken to use within Canterbury Museum and Galleries and third party marketing activities, including use on our website, social media and press releases.
