Situated on the first floor of The Beaney our Explorers & Collectors gallery provides the ideal environment to entertain and inspire. Available in Theatre Style or Standing Reception, this flagship gallery features fascinating finds from Ancient Egypt and Anglo-Saxon Kent; Ancient Greek Art and objects brought back from travels across Asia, Africa, India and South America.

Guests are invited to wonder at the collections on display and delight in the rooms’ opulent architecture.

Throughout the evening guests can wander through to the adjoining galleries, housing both permanent and special collections, and explore the infamous ‘Cabinet of Curiosities’.

For drinks receptions, events or photo-shoots, our Explorers & Collectors gallery is an inspiring setting with an abundance of entertaining possibilities.

The Museums Association was delighted to hold a one-day event at the Beaney. The staff were extremely helpful, from front-of-house staff to event staff and we were well looked after before the event and on the day. We couldn’t have asked for better service. The venue itself is lovely, beautifully set out and the catering and service were of the highest standard. The setting in the heart of Canterbury makes it an accessible and interesting venue. I would highly recommend the whole experience.
