Exhibition

Since 1974, L’Arche has been a place for people who want change. People with and without learning disabilities, living life to the full, creating a different world every day – a world that’s real, rowdy and relational. It’s beautiful. It’s a joyful rebellion worth celebrating.

Workshop Series

The exhibition will be complemented by a series of seven free inclusive workshops in the Front Room Gallery at The Beaney that are designed with people with learning disabilities and are suitable for all ages and abilities.

The Joyful Book club

Books Beyond Words book club

Experience a Books Beyond Words book club session. It’s a fun and creative way of exploring and telling stories. 

Drop-in, spaces limited.

(On Fridays, the library also hosts regular Books Beyond Words sessions with people with learning disabilities ) 

 

Sensory Storytelling with Music

Friday 5 and Friday 12 April 2:00pm – 3:30pm

Come and immerse yourself in stories through music, touch, sound and smell. Be ready for an experience full of wonder and beauty that takes you to another place.

Makaton Taster Session

Makaton is a sign and symbol language used by people with speech, language, and communication difficulties. The aim of this session is to give a general introduction to what Makaton is and who uses it, with the opportunity to learn a few signs and symbols.

Inclusive Music Workshop 

Come and sing songs that you know already or ones that we make up together. Everyone is a singer! It will be fun.
