The Beaney has lots of ancient Egyptian amulets, some of them depict different gods but many of our amulets are in the form of scarab beetles like this one. The scarab was very important to the Ancient Egyptians, they associated this beetle with the sun, rebirth and renewal

What can you find out about real scarab beetles? They do something very unusual with their eggs and it was this that the ancient Egyptians compared with how the sun rose and fell in the sky.
