Lots of our most popular paintings at the museum are portraits of children. Here are some of our favourites. All of these paintings were painted by different artists at different times. They can help us understand what life might have been like for children at different times in history.

Make a portrait of yourself or of children that you know. Include things in the painting that would tell someone in the future what life is like for you right now. What do you enjoy doing? What objects, clothes or details could you include to tell someone about you?
