Arts Award

Arts Award is a wonderful way for children and young people to be inspired by and enjoy the arts. Taking part in a learning activity at Canterbury Museums & Galleries can contribute towards gaining an Arts Award qualification.

Arts Award is offered at 5 levels, 4 of which are accredited and 1 is an introductory award – Discover, Explore, Bronze, Silver and Gold. It is a framework for learning and sharing new skills.  It is also an opportunity to develop creativity and leadership skills and creates a link between young people and creative arts professionals. It is open to anyone aged 7 to 25 and embraces all interests and backgrounds.  Find out what inspires you, share your talents, and you could achieve an award that makes a real difference in the world of work and the arts. Arts Award is managed by Trinity College London in association with Arts Council England.

Since its launch in 2005, the award has grown quickly and is now flourishing in arts centres, colleges and schools, community projects, libraries, galleries, local authorities, theatres, youth clubs and youth justice settings.

Canterbury Museums &  Galleries is an Arts Award Supporter and offers Arts Award opportunities through some of our educational workshops and activities for children and young people at The Beaney and Canterbury Roman Museum. We can also support schools working on Arts Award qualifications through exhibition visits, guided tours and activity trails.
