Family Friendly Museum Award

The Beaney needs your votes!

We’ve been nominated for the Kids in Museums Family Friendly Museum Award 2023. The prestigious award recognises museums, galleries and heritage sites that provide a great experience for children, young people and families. It is the only museum award to be judged by families.

At The Beaney we believe in learning through play and want to start conversations and exploration as early as possible in our communities. That’s why we put family at the heart of everything we do!

Creative activities, musical instruments, kaleidoscopes, toys, games, costumes and more, we make sure there are fun interactive activities for families to get the most of their visit to the museum. We plan our exhibitions with families in mind too, whether it’s for LEGO exhibitions and workshops, Peter Rabbit, Rupert Bear or Halloween trails we love welcoming families to the museum.

We’re so happy that our visitors have nominated us for the Family Friendly Museum Award!

If you have enjoyed a visit with your family, we would be really grateful if you could send your experience to Kids in Museums to give us the best possible application:

The deadline for nominations is 5pm on 5 June 2023.

In June, an expert panel will whittle down the nominations to a shortlist. Undercover family judges will then visit each shortlisted museum and assess them on how well they meet the Kids in Museums Manifesto. Their experiences will decide the winners. The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in October 2023.
